Sonya is in the confidence building business and loves to help women break through the glass ceiling! She works with highly motivated professional women (and enlightened, progressive men) who feel stuck, uncertain, or frustrated in their career. She empowers them to find a job they love that is balanced and aligned with their work-life vision. It took her many years to learn to do this and now she helps others design and live their balanced life.
Sonya combines her 1:1 executive leadership coaching and business strategy consulting to create real-world game plans that are practical and accomplishable for start-ups and companies looking to grow quickly or reinvent themselves. She focuses on strategic planning and the implementation of solutions to difficult and seemingly intractable problems. Her extensive experience as an operations and legal executive ranges from start-ups to new business ventures inside public companies.

Sonya has been an in-house IP and Corporate lawyer for over 25 years. Her previous career accomplishments include having the role of Vice President of Product Strategy and Consulting at Discovia, being the founder of Cataphora and holding an in-house counsel position at Intuit and a business development/legal consultant role to several companies, including Sony, IDO Systems, RealCommunities and Treasure Media. She started her legal career as an attorney at SEGA, supporting the business and product development groups, marketing, and the finance department.
She is active in her community and writes for the Stroll Felida magazine (FKA Felida Fine Living). She is a mentor for the Santa Clara University Entrepreneur Law Clinic and The Mentoring Club. She is on the Steering Committee for the San Carlos Chickens’ Ball and is the President and Treasurer of the DesBrisay Sigler Family Foundation. Sonya is a staunch supporter and advocate for women and girls in technology and has founded or been on the board of a women’s group since she began her career. She is an active member of and speaker for Women in eDiscovery.
Past community activities have included being a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel (on the Litigation and Small Law Department Committees), the American Bar Association, and The Sedona Conference Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production, founding the Women’s Interactive Entertainment Association, and board work for Verify Valid, the Nova Vista Symphony, Women in Technology, the San Carlos Education Foundation, and the San Carlos Charter Learning Center.
